Case Study 1: Large Telecom Provider

Project: Network sourcing and optimization

Project Scope and Objectives:

Key objective for the client included; lowering its network transport costs, lowering operating costs and simplification, no sacrifice in current quality of performance and customer experience and increasing competitiveness of its offers going forward.

Solution and Deliverables:

  • We coordinated and conducted multiple vendor walkthroughs that included a detailed review of the proposed technical, financial and Huma Resources solutions
  • We assisted the Client in developing communication messages to the key stakeholders that included executive level presentation, business case scenarios, risk analysis and recommendations for next steps.
  • We worked with the Client and the selected Suppliers to conduct a detailed Due Diligence process facilitated through our best practices, tools and templates
  • We assisted the Clients and their Legal team with negotiating the final agreement with all contract schedules including the SOW, SLAs and pricing

Tangible Business Outcomes:

The project delivered 30% in net savings for the Client through sourcing of selected network and support operation functions to one Vendor.  The resulting contract also included performance based service levels with significant penalties and incentives for agreed upon performance.

 

Case Study 2: Federal Civilian Agency

Project: Data Center Strategy and Move Planning

Project Scope and Objectives:

Key objective for the client included, developing an overall Data Center strategy, developing a detailed project plan, developing the data center configuration and plan, developing an RFP for potential hosting providers and project managing the overall data center moves.

Solution and Deliverables:

  • Developed an overall schematic of the existing Data Centers to include assessment reports, diagrams and physical inventories.
  • Developed detailed gap analysis, move plans, move inventories, reconciliation, as-built documentation in preparation of Data Center moves
  • Developed detailed requirements and the RFP for the Hosting facility requirements; hosting facility assessment, gap analysis, consolidation /optimization plan, move plan, move inventories, reconciliation, as-built documentation

Tangible Business Outcomes:

Developed the overall plan for the data center relocations, developed the requirements for the hosting provider and supported the prime in planning and coordinating the moves of multiple data centers into two new locations.

 

Case Study 3: Federal Civilian Agency

Project: Information Technology Strategy and Sourcing

Project Scope and Objectives:

Key objective for the client included evaluating the Office of Information Technology’s current operations, developing an IT Roadmap, evaluating sourcing options, developing detailed Service Level metrics, developing detailed requirements and assisting with the evaluation process.

Solution and Deliverables:

  • We developed the overall report that documented the project scope, OIT objectives and approach
  • We have worked with various OIT Branch Chiefs to develop and document the SLA’s & Metric’s for the ISS RFP
  • We have submitted Trip Reports (assessment and summarization) from Benchmark(s) performed with other Federal agencies Assessment
  • We have developed and delivered the assessment of a Hybrid Cloud Delivery Model and Service Operations in the Distributed Support Model
  • We have developed the detailed budget analysis and scenario options for the ISS Re-compete contract for OIT and OA review

Tangible Business Outcomes:

Developed the overall IT strategy and roadmap, develop the statements of work and service levels, released the RFP on fbo.gov, coordinated responses to industry questions and coordinated the proposal evaluations.

 

Case Study 4: DHS Agency

Project: Information Technology Strategy Support

Project Scope and Objectives:

Key objective for the client included review of the exhaustive list of current technologies in use across the agency and validate if those technologies are current, determine end of product lifecycles and make recommendations.

Solution and Deliverables:

  • Product and Technology verification including it’s supportability and end of life analysis
  • Recommendations for future technology changes and timelines for the same
  • Conduct analysis for total cost of ownership of various technologies for the CTO’s office with an intent to lower the cost to the Government
  • Explore message queuing and integration platforms and their economics

Tangible Business Outcomes:

Researched various technological topics and wrote several papers for the office of the Chief Technology Officer.
